The agricultural sector in Algeria witnessed a series of qualitative steps and structural investments in 2025, which strengthened its role in achieving food security and driving local production. Government decisions and incentives were made to support farmers and update agricultural infrastructure. In a strategic move to support small and medium-sized farmers, the Algerian Ministry of Finance announced an unprecedented financing plan, consisting of signing six (06) agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and public banks, which provides interest-free loans up to 150 million dinars to establish cooling and storage facilities after harvest. This program, signed in collaboration with national banks, aims to reduce the burden on farmers and increase their competitiveness.
