Production exceeds 1.3 million quintals of citrus in Algiers

Citrus production in the capital Algiers has exceeded 1.3 million quintals annually, placing the province at the forefront of national producers, thanks to the increasing reliance on intensive agriculture that has contributed to raising productivity and improving product quality, according to Ibrahim Jrebia, the head of the provincial agricultural chamber. Jrebia explained, as reported by 'APS', during the opening of the fourth edition of the citrus exhibition for Algiers in the presence of representatives from local authorities and professionals, that the area allocated for citrus cultivation in the province exceeds 7,000 hectares out of about 80,000 hectares allocated for this sector at the national level, reflecting the agricultural weight that the capital Algiers still retains.
