Algeria is preparing for a new phase in the field of red tuna fishing, after nearly a decade and a half of stagnation. This comes two months after Algeria's success at the Seville meeting in Spain (November 17 – 24, 2025). Algerian negotiators regained a quota of 2,460 tons, benefiting from an increase of 437 tons. Algeria's share has risen to nearly 5.10 percent of the quota of member countries in the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas 'ICCAT'.

Béjaïa Port has set a new record in handling bulk cargo, unloading 15,153.60 tons of corn within 24 hours, in an operation conducted directly from the ship to the trucks, according to the Béjaïa Port Authority (EPB).
