The national hydrocarbons company SONATRACH has achieved an unprecedented historic step in Europe, specifically through its Italian branch Augusta refinery on the island of Sicily in the south of the country, following its commencement of production of a new type of low-emission gasoline blended with ethanol known as 'E5'. In this context, the Augusta refinery owned by SONATRACH located in Augusta, Italy (Sonatrach Raffineria Italiana), announced via a statement reviewed by 'Echorouk' on Friday evening, the actual start of production of this fuel, with the first tanker of E5 gasoline shipped on January 14 from its facility, indicating that this transition from the planning or testing phase to the actual production phase has begun.
