Air passenger traffic in South Korea reached a record high in the past year 2025, driven by strong demand for international travel, according to data released today, Friday, by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea. The total number of air passengers at South Korean airports was 124.8 million in 2025, an increase of 3.9 percent from 2024 when 120 million passengers were recorded, surpassing the previous record of 123.4 million passengers set in 2019. This increase is mainly attributed to the rise in international travelers to and from South Korea, which rose by 6.3 percent year-on-year to approximately 94.5 million passengers, while the number of domestic travelers decreased.
