Colleague Nadia Slimani Wins First Prize in the National Environmental Journalism Competition

Colleague Nadia Slimani from Echorouk El Yawmi newspaper won the first prize in the fifth edition of the national environmental journalism competition for her article titled: “From Forgotten Waste to National Wealth.. Circular Economy in Algeria.. Can Electronic Waste Win the Bet?”. The article discussed the importance of electronic waste as an economic opportunity and environmental threat in Algeria, highlighting the significant increase in the volume of this waste due to the rising consumption of phones, computers, and digital devices, and the health and environmental risks resulting from their improper disposal, particularly their content of toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium.
