The Mostaganem Port Authority has begun implementing the final solution to address the wreck of the fishing vessel 'Al-Salam' through dismantling and cutting operations, in a step aimed at removing a navigational hazard that has existed for years and lifting a major obstacle to completing the comprehensive rehabilitation project of the concerned dock, as part of the authority's strategy to cleanse the port basin and enhance maritime safety and security standards. According to a statement from the port authority, a specialized technical team started last Thursday the first stages of the cutting process, utilizing all necessary logistical means and applying strict safety protocols to ensure the safe conduct of the operation, in addition to gradually executing the evacuation of the dismantled parts according to applicable environmental standards.
