Opening a file for reviewing natural gas supply contracts between Algeria and Italy

Algeria and Italy have officially opened negotiations to review and renew contracts for the supply of Algerian gas to the European country, as part of ongoing bilateral consultations aimed at securing energy supplies and enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially as Algeria solidifies its position as the main supplier of the Italian market with natural gas, covering more than a third of its needs from this vital energy source. In this context, sources close to the file informed 'Echorouk' that the issue of reviewing and renewing gas supply contracts was among the key topics discussed during the visit of Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, to Algeria, during his meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mines.
