Suspension of Production of Non-Compliant Food Salt Bearing a Leading Brand

The food security services of the central operational unit for combating organized crime of the National Gendarmerie, in coordination with the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology, managed to halt the activities of a private company producing and marketing food salt without adhering to legal conditions and standards, as part of efforts to protect consumers and ensure food security. The same sources indicated, according to Algerian radio, that investigations revealed fraudulent practices threatening public health, including the production of food salt completely free of 'iodine', despite bearing a leading brand in the national market.
