The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Yassine Walid, confirmed the sector's readiness to launch the harvest and threshing campaign for the 2025-2026 season in mid-April, utilizing public logistical resources and enhancing them with private sector capabilities, alongside adopting technical measures to reduce production loss and improve sector productivity. The minister explained yesterday, during a national meeting with directors of grain and dry legume cooperatives and officials from the Algerian Professional Office of Cereals, that the campaign will start on April 12 in the southern provinces, where the readiness of cooperatives to receive the crops was reviewed, particularly through the provision of harvesters and trucks, and the identification of production collection points, and enhancing storage capacities.
