The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion clarifies that the classification of imported materials between 'semi-finished' and 'fully manufactured' primarily depends on their nature of use in production or consumption, and the classification of the same material may vary according to the activity of the economic operator, within a legal and technical framework that ensures the protection of national products. According to a written response from the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, to a question from the deputy, Rabah Jdidi, which 'Echorouk' reviewed, the classification of materials is done according to the provisions of the national customs tariff, where the nature of the material itself may vary according to the practiced activity; it may be considered a production input within the framework of an industrial transformation process, while it is regarded as a ready-to-consume product in another context, according to the tariff items.
