Expansion of the Local Development Bank in the Field of Islamic Financing

The total loans granted by the Local Development Bank in 2025 exceeded 1400 billion DZD, with a noticeable development in Islamic banking activities, according to the bank's general manager, Mohamed Mebarek. Mebarek explained to 'APS' that the value of loans granted surpassed 1400 billion DZD during the past year, marking an increase of 186 billion DZD compared to 2024, which reflects, as he said, 'the expansion of financing activities and support for investment in various sectors.' In this regard, the official confirmed that the bank continues its role as a financial partner in major structural projects, having notably contributed to the financing of the western mining line, seawater desalination plants, in addition to major agricultural projects in the southern provinces.
