The company 'Baladna Algeria' is preparing to launch the largest air transport operation for live animals in the world, by shipping 30,000 dairy cows from nine American states on board 109 flights, as part of the second phase of the powdered milk production project, for which contracts worth over $635 million have been signed, within a total investment of $3.5 billion. The transport operation will extend over 10 months starting from November 2026, aiming to form a nucleus of a total herd estimated at about 270,000 cows of the 'Holstein Friesian' breed, with air transport being adopted to reduce transport time and maintain the health of the herd, according to the explanations provided during the signing ceremony.
