National Program to Expand Argan Cultivation with Smart Technologies

The Director General of Forests, Jamal Tawahiria, announced the preparation of a national program to develop and promote the argan tree relying on modern technologies and smart technological means, aiming to improve production and expand the areas planted with this economically and environmentally important tree. The official explained, in a press statement on the sidelines of a national study day on the development of the argan tree, that the program focuses on planting 250 trees per hectare, using water-saving modern techniques, such as drip irrigation, alongside employing smart technologies to monitor tree growth and improve their yield.
