Green Hydrogen and Valorization of Brine in Projects of the Algerian Company for Water Desalination

The Algerian Company for Water Desalination intends to launch several feasibility studies and new research partnerships during the current year, including the exploitation of green hydrogen and the valorization of brine resulting from seawater desalination, along with a study of groundwater resources in the Algerian desert, as part of supporting efforts for energy transition, sustainable development, and the development of water desalination activities in the country. Sofiane Zmeich, the development director of the Algerian Company for Water Desalination, announced on the sidelines of the second national forum for seawater desalination, the launch of a feasibility study during the current year to explore the possibilities of exploiting green hydrogen, aiming to identify the best ways for the company to contribute to the development and transition.
