The Sonelgaz group has enhanced its production capacity by more than 1850 additional megawatts in anticipation of the summer season to meet peak demand periods. Fatima Zahra Merzouki, the communication director of the Sonelgaz group, explained in a presentation during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies on energy consumption rationalization in public administrations that the peak demand for electrical energy is expected to reach 21350 megawatts during the upcoming summer at seasonal temperatures and 22150 megawatts at exceptional temperatures, representing an annual growth rate of 3.5% and 7% respectively.
