Algeria's gas production rises by 6% in May, exports grow by more than 11%

The energy research platform revealed that Algeria's natural gas production continued to rise for the fifth consecutive month in May 2026, recording an annual growth rate of 6.2%, with an increase of 484 million cubic meters, reaching 8.342 billion cubic meters, compared to 7.858 billion cubic meters during the same month in 2025. The platform indicated that the average Algerian gas production was about 9.5 billion cubic feet per day in May, compared to 8.95 billion cubic feet per day in the same month last year, while total production during the first five months of 2026 increased by 5% to reach 45.841 billion cubic meters, compared to 43.605 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2025.
