The Director of Media and Communication at the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, Khalil Hedna, announced that Algeria recorded, yesterday Sunday, the highest peak of electricity consumption in its history, with the demand for electrical energy reaching 21,176 megawatts at around three o'clock in the afternoon, surpassing the record set during the same period in 2025, which was estimated at 20,628 megawatts, with an increase of nearly one megawatt.
