The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Houria Medahi, chaired a coordination meeting today, Monday, dedicated to evaluating the visa-on-arrival mechanism for foreign tourists coming to Algeria and enhancing the attractiveness of the desert tourism destination, according to a statement from the ministry. During this meeting, Ms. Medahi indicated that the visa-on-arrival mechanism, established by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in 2023 for foreign tourists heading to the southern provinces, has shown positive results since its launch, with approximately 39,000 foreign tourists from 120 different nationalities benefiting from it.
