The number of merchants providing online payment services exceeds the threshold of one thousand

The number of electronic merchants providing online payment options in Algeria surpassed 1000 merchants by the end of June, reflecting the ongoing dynamism of the monetary system in the country. According to the latest data from the GIE Monétique, the number of merchants enrolled in the online payment platform in Algeria reached 1004 merchants by the end of the first half of the current year 2026, compared to 644 merchants during the same period last year, representing an increase of 55 percent.
