The Algerian Saharan Blend topped the list of the most expensive Arab crude oils included in the OPEC basket during August 2026, after its average price rose by 12.6% month-on-month, reaching $94.32 per barrel, compared to $83.79 in July, according to recent data obtained by the Energy Research Unit. The Algerian crude ranked first among Arab crudes in terms of price, ahead of Libyan Es Sider crude at $91.37 per barrel, and Emirati Murban at $90.96, while the average price of Saudi Arabian light crude was $86.52.
