American Project Opens Export Route Through Algeria

The Canadian company Global Atomic is looking to explore a route through Algeria and the Sahara to export production from the 'Dasa' uranium project in Niger, at a time when the project has secured a US funding commitment of up to $414 million, according to Reuters. The project aims to develop one of the most significant uranium deposits in Niger, where the company faces security and logistical challenges due to the landlocked nature of the country, as well as increasing risks associated with transport routes to the coast. In this context, Global Atomic is exploring alternative export options, including investing in a northern route that passes through Algeria and the Sahara.
