Algeria is set to record the fastest growth in renewable energy installed capacity in Africa from 2026 to 2031, with a compound annual growth rate of 42.51 percent, driven by the expansion of solar energy projects and plans to develop green hydrogen linked to the export network, according to the Energy Platform based on a recent report by the research company 'Mordor Intelligence'. The report indicated that Algeria is moving towards this growth with the launch of a solar energy tender with a capacity of 1 gigawatt, alongside aligning green hydrogen plans with the export network of SONATRACH.
