Oil Rises by More Than 3% at Settlement

Oil prices rose yesterday, Thursday, by more than 3% at settlement, reaching their highest levels in about a week, amid renewed concerns about crude supplies. Brent crude futures rose by $3.52 or 3.4% to $106.60 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures increased by $2.45 or 2.7% to $94.61 per barrel. Both crude types touched an increase of about 5% during the session, with Brent recording its highest settlement level since September 15, while West Texas ended a series of six consecutive declines, during which it lost about 13%.
