
Urgent program to train combine harvester drivers to address skill shortages and reduce crop losses
The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Yassine Walid, along with the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nassima Arhab, chaired a coordination meeting yesterday, Tuesday, dedicated to launching an urgent program to train combine harvester drivers, as part of a joint action plan aimed at qualifying trainers and specialized labor in agricultural mechanization, with the goal of reducing crop losses and improving sector performance. The meeting approved the organization of an urgent training course in preparation for the start of the harvest and threshing campaign for the 2025-2026 season in mid this month in the southern provinces, with the first of these courses starting on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the “Sampo-Algerie” company for harvesting equipment manufacturing in Sidi Bel Abbes, for the benefit of combine harvester drivers belonging to...
