Algeria's Exports of Iron and Steel Expand Internationally
Despite the looming restrictions from the European bloc regarding carbon tariffs at the borders of EU countries known as 'CBAM', and the customs duties imposed by US President Donald Trump on exports coming from our country, Algeria's international sales of iron and steel are notably growing and finding new international destinations despite the restrictions. In this context, the Algerian Iron and Steel Company, located in the Belara area of El Milia in Jijel Province, has begun simultaneous export operations of its iron and steel products through four national ports and towards various international destinations despite the prevailing international conditions. The 'Algerian Qatari Company' exported more than 200,000 tons in 2026.
