The port authority in Skikda witnessed a significant export operation on Monday involving a large shipment of cement, estimated at around 3,800 tons, packed in large bags. This operation underscores the position and importance of Skikda Port as a strategic logistics platform to support Algerian exports to European markets and the state's strategy to expand and promote exports beyond hydrocarbons. The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion announced the reopening of the digital platform for importing raw materials and necessary production equipment during the period from April 14 to 30, with the aim of processing supplementary requests under specific conditions. A statement from the ministry clarified that this period will be dedicated to studying requests accompanied by supporting documents in 'PDF' format, which are related to cases of force majeure, such as floods, fires, exceptional incidents, and technical malfunctions, in addition to cases of increased production lines or capacities, or signing new export contracts, emphasizing that all requests not compliant with these cases will be automatically rejected.
