Pharmaceutical Industry: Over 82% of Reservations Related to Algeria Reaching Third Maturity Level Lifted

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Gouidi, confirmed that the World Health Organization lifted over 82% of the reservations related to Algeria reaching the third maturity level in the pharmaceutical industry. Gouidi stated in a speech delivered on his behalf by the head of his office, Ben Slimane Fouad, during the launch of a workshop dedicated to the self-assessment of the national pharmaceutical regulation system, that previous workshops allowed for the review and updating of many regulatory texts and procedures, which enabled the lifting of more than 82% of the reservations recorded by World Health Organization experts through the initial assessment, reflecting the extent of progress achieved and confirming that Algeria is steadily moving towards reaching the third regulatory maturity level.

The government has decided, through the youth employment support system, that the death of a beneficiary of the micro-enterprise support system does not automatically lead to the cancellation of the project or exempt the heirs from financial obligations. Instead, the situation is handled according to flexible mechanisms that take into account the continuity of activity or the settlement of the loan on a case-by-case basis. Under this approach, in some cases, the project can be transferred to a qualified family member to continue the economic activity, while the granted loans remain in effect and are settled either through rescheduling or through settlement arrangements between the bank, the agency, and the beneficiary, preserving the contractual nature of the financing.
