Exit from the FATF grey list: Algerian performance praised by an American think tank
The analysis recalls that during its plenary session in June in Paris, the FATF officially removed Algeria from its enhanced surveillance list, ending an episode that began in October 2024. The comparison with other cases is striking: Morocco needed two years to achieve its removal in 2023, while the United Arab Emirates followed a nearly as long path in 2024. Algeria, on the other hand, completed its action plan in record time, demonstrating its ability to respond effectively when the set objectives are precise, technical, and backed by ecological stakes.
