The Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation recorded a response from 53,709 merchants to the duty system on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday nationwide, aimed at ensuring the continuity of supply of essential goods and necessary services, according to a statement from the ministry on Wednesday.

On the first day of Eid al-Adha, there was a widespread response among traders in Algiers to the duty program set by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Regulation of the National Market, with many traders volunteering to open their shops to ensure a regular supply of consumer goods. The traders involved in the duty program were keen to carry out their activities from the early hours of Wednesday morning, including sellers of general food items, bakeries, butcher shops, fruit and vegetable vendors, kiosks, and others, while families began the ritual of sacrificing the Eid animal.
