Fritas: Forest fires decline for the second consecutive year in Algeria thanks to preventive measures

Said Fritas, the deputy director for the protection of forest properties at the General Directorate of Forests, confirmed that the annual rate of forest areas lost due to fires is 40 hectares, which is the same area or more that public authorities replant and restore annually in various types, in order to preserve the national wealth of forests, which only represents 02 percent of the country's total area.
