
Desert Tourism Season Records 470,000 Visitors and Expansion Prospects in Hotel Infrastructure
The desert tourism season 2025-2026, extending from October 2025 to April 2026, recorded nearly 470,000 tourists, including about 47,000 foreign tourists. The number of tourists who visited the southern provinces in 2025 was around 750,000, of which nearly 65,000 were foreigners, reflecting a rising activity in the sector. This report was presented during a review meeting chaired by the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Houria Madahi, dedicated to showcasing the season's results and evaluating the recorded indicators, with the presence of sector directors from various southern provinces. She confirmed that this dynamism is due to the improved investment climate thanks to the incentives provided by the state, reiterating her sector's commitment to supporting investors.
