Calls to Accelerate the Activation of AfCFTA and Enhance the Role of Startups in African Development
Participants in the twelfth edition of the Africa Investment and Trade Forum called for intensified efforts to activate the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a key mechanism for developing trade exchanges within the continent, emphasizing the importance of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in achieving sustainable development and enhancing African economic integration. The forum sessions, held on May 9 and 10 under the slogan 'Together We Open Markets', featured extensive discussions on ways to stimulate economic growth by supporting startups and enhancing cooperation among African countries to remove trade barriers and create a more attractive investment climate that aligns with the shared aspirations of the continent's nations.
