
FAO: Global Food Prices Rise by 1.7% in June
The global food price index rose by 1.7% year-on-year in June, despite a monthly decline of 0.3%, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced today, Friday. The organization explained in its monthly report on the global food price index, which measures monthly changes in the prices of food commodities traded globally, that it reached 103.3 points in June, down by 0.4 points, or 0.3% compared to May.
