Oil Rises Amid Ongoing US-Iran Tensions
Oil prices rose slightly on Thursday as investors awaited whether US-Iran talks would avert a military conflict threatening supply disruptions, although gains were limited by an increase in US crude oil inventories. The price of Brent crude futures reached $71.04 per barrel, up 19 cents, or 0.3 percent, at 04:15 GMT. West Texas Intermediate futures rose 15 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $65.57 per barrel. Meanwhile, the prices of Brent and West Texas Intermediate remained largely unchanged on Wednesday. Brent had risen on Monday to its highest level in 31 days.
