Gold Rises Supported by Purchases After Sharp Decline
Gold prices rose this Wednesday, supported by purchases after a decline of more than 2 percent in the previous session, as trading remained weak due to the Lunar New Year holiday in several Asian markets. Gold rose in spot transactions by 0.2 percent to $4886.69 per ounce, after hitting the lowest level in more than a week on Tuesday, while U.S. futures contracts for April settled at $4904.50.
