6.78 billion euros trade volume between Algeria and Italy in 6 months
The trade exchange volume between Algeria and Italy reached approximately 6.78 billion euros during the first half of 2026, driven by the continued export of Algerian energy to the Italian market, alongside significant growth in the export of Italian machinery and equipment to Algeria, according to Eurostat data processed by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and published by the Italian news agency Nova. The agency reported that Italian exports to Algeria amounted to 1.56 billion euros between January and June 2026, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year, while Italian imports from Algeria reached 5.22 billion euros, a decrease of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2025. Algeria captures 34.7% of Spanish gas imports
Algeria's gas supplies to Spain reached 10.313 terawatt-hours in August 2026, making it the second largest supplier to the Spanish market with a share of 34.7% of total imports, according to recent data obtained by the specialized energy platform from Inagas. According to the data, Algerian supplies were divided between 9.897 terawatt-hours of natural gas and 0.416 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas, while Spain's total imports of natural and liquefied gas amounted to about 29.75 terawatt-hours during the month, according to the same data.
