Expected production of more than 117,000 quintals of grains in Ghardaïa

Today, Tuesday, in the Wilaya of Ghardaïa, the harvesting and threshing campaign for the agricultural season 2026/2025 has started, amid expectations of a production of 117,500 quintals of various types of grains, according to information from the Directorate of Agricultural Services. The total area planted with grains this season is estimated at about 2,350 hectares distributed over 56 agricultural investments operating in this type of strategic agriculture across 10 municipalities in the Wilaya, as explained by the sector director, Sid Ahmed Melahi, to the Algerian News Agency. The official pointed out that the expected quantity of grain production for this season represents an increase of about 36 percent compared to the previous agricultural season, which recorded a production of 86,116 quintals.
