A recent report from the specialized energy research unit revealed that Algeria needs investments estimated at around 25 billion dollars to develop the hydrogen sector and achieve its goals by 2040, enabling it to produce up to 1.2 million tons of green hydrogen annually for export. The report explained that the Algerian strategy is based on developing the hydrogen sector through two parallel tracks: the first for producing green hydrogen relying on renewable energy, and the second for producing blue hydrogen using natural gas and carbon capture and storage technologies, benefiting from its large gas reserves.
