Oil prices rose by more than one percent at settlement on Friday due to developments in the Middle East. Brent crude futures increased by $1.45, or 1.67 percent, to record $88.52 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by $1.15, or 1.42 percent, to record $82.40 per barrel. Weekly gains for Brent crude reached six percent, and for West Texas Intermediate crude, 5.4 percent.
