With an initial capital of 5 billion dollars.. the African Energy Bank is nearing launch
The African Petroleum Producers Organization confirmed that preparations for the launch of the African Energy Bank are progressing well, noting that the new financial institution, launched in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank, aims to support investments in the hydrocarbons sector on the African continent, amid a decline in funding from Western institutions for oil and gas projects. The organization's statement indicated that the progress of the project was the focus of a meeting held on Monday in Cairo between a delegation from the organization led by its Secretary-General, Farid Ghazali, and the President of Afreximbank, George Elumelu.
