The Minister of Water, Lounes Bouzegza, instructed to restart the main connection canal coming from the Taqsbit Dam in the Tizi Ouzou province heading towards Algiers, within a maximum period of 48 hours, after it suffered a malfunction that caused damage. The Ministry of Water reported in a statement that the malfunction occurred in the Draa Lakhal area in the Boumerdes municipality, due to a landslide, which led to damage to the canal and the possibility of temporary fluctuations in the supply of drinking water in several municipalities in the Boumerdes and Algiers provinces.
