Annaba Launches First Operation for Transporting Empty Containers by Train

The Wilaya of Annaba launched today, Sunday, the first operation for transporting empty containers by train, starting from the storage area of 'Lalaïq' towards the Port of Annaba. This initiative aims to enhance the performance of port facilities and improve their operational efficiency, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior and Local Communities and the Minister of Transport, Mr. Saïd Sayoud. According to a statement from the Annaba Port Authority, the operation was overseen by Abdel Karim Lamouri, the Governor of Annaba, and it is expected that this initiative will contribute to reducing logistical costs for economic operators, as well as diversifying transport modes, thereby increasing the rate of container departures from the port.
