Algeria's Ranking Among the Top Arab Countries Importing Chinese Solar Panels

Recent data reviewed by the Energy Research Unit showed that the total imports of the top 10 Arab countries of Chinese solar panels reached 5.59 gigawatts during the first quarter of 2026, compared to 4.67 gigawatts in the same period of 2025, an annual increase of 920 megawatts, driven by a clear expansion in renewable energy projects across the region. According to the data, Algeria recorded imports of 0.31 gigawatts, ranking seventh among the Arab countries in the list of the largest importers of Chinese solar panels, compared to 0.46 gigawatts during the same period last year, reflecting a decline in import volume despite the continued integration of solar energy into national energy transition plans.
