Demand forecasts are gradually improving for the last quarter of 2026 and 2027. According to OPEC's monthly report, the average OPEC reference basket (ORB) recorded a decline of $6.76 per barrel in July, a decrease of 7.5%, settling at $82.99 per barrel. The price of the benchmark Brent crude also fell to $83.97 per barrel, down by $0.46.
Algeria was included in the list of the largest oil deals witnessed in August 2026, through two deals with Niger that included the export of jet fuel and the joint marketing of Niger's milk crude, according to the monthly report prepared by the specialized energy platform, which monitored the most prominent oil deals in the region during the month. According to the report, SONATRACH began exporting its first shipments of Jet A1 jet fuel to Niger, starting from the Adrar refinery, in implementation of the sales contract concluded with SONIDEP, coinciding with the start of the joint marketing of Niger's milk crude.
