The International Monetary Fund praised Algeria's progress in diversifying the economy and combating money laundering, emphasizing the robustness of the economic outlook for the national economy in the short term. In a statement released following the mission it sent to Algeria from June 16 to 30, as part of the 2026 consultations under Article IV, the IMF valued Algeria's efforts in diversifying the economy, particularly in the mining and agricultural sectors, encouraging it to continue reforms aimed at enhancing competitiveness and stimulating private investment.
