SONATRACH exports first shipment of liquefied natural gas to Germany

SONATRACH announced that on July 2, 2026, it executed its first liquefied natural gas export operation to Germany, as part of its strategy to diversify gas export markets and enhance its presence in international energy markets. A statement from the group, which was reviewed by 'Echorouk Online', indicated that this shipment was dispatched from the 'GL2Z' gas liquefaction plant in Bethioua, Algeria, before being transported aboard the liquefied natural gas carrier 'Tassala', owned by SONATRACH, towards the floating regasification terminal 'Wilhelmshaven 1' in Germany.
