In anticipation of the summer consumption peak.. Sonelgaz enhances its production capacity by more than 1850 megawatts

The Sonelgaz group has enhanced its production capacity by more than 1850 additional megawatts in anticipation of the summer season to meet peak demand periods. Fatima Zahra Merzouki, the communication director of the Sonelgaz group, explained in a presentation during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies on energy consumption rationalization in public administrations that the peak demand for electrical energy is expected to reach 21350 megawatts during the upcoming summer at seasonal temperatures and 22150 megawatts at exceptional temperatures, representing an annual growth rate of 3.5% and 7% respectively. On the occasion of the arrival of the Hijri year 1448, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments announced on Thursday evening in a statement that the zakat threshold for the past Hijri year was estimated at 2,295,000 dinars, 229.5 million centimes. The mentioned amount represents the value of 20 gold dinars, or the equivalent of 85 grams of the yellow metal, which was set at the beginning of this Hijri year by the National Agency for the Transformation and Distribution of Gold and Precious Metals (AGENOR) at 27,000 dinars (18-carat).
