
Launch of the Red Tuna Fishing Campaign This Tuesday with an Additional Quota Exceeding 400 Tons
The red tuna fishing campaign for this year will start on Tuesday, May 19, with a fleet of 41 vessels participating, including seven locally built ships. According to the Algerian News Agency, Omar Ouchli, Director of Marine Fishing Development at the General Directorate of Marine Fishing and Aquaculture, under the Ministry of Marine Fishing and Fishery Products, stated, 'For this year's red tuna fishing campaign, which will continue until July, Algeria's quota for this type of fish has reached 2465.28 tons, an increase of more than 400 tons compared to 2025.'
